MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Members can join as an individual, as a member of a dragon boat team, or both.

Members of dragon boat teams have use of all dragon boat equipment during their regularly scheduled time slots, as well as the use of marathon canoes and the OC6’s.

Individual members have access to all boats (canoes, kayaks, outriggers). Reservations in advance are recommended.

ALL MEMBERSHIPS REGISTERED AND PAID FOR BY OCTOBER 15TH, 2009 WILL RECEIVE A 15% DISCOUNT ON FEES.

ALL MEMBERSHIPS REGISTERED AND PAID FOR BY NOVEMBER 15TH, 2009 WILL RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT ON FEES.

TEAM MEMBERSHIP
There are three different forms of team membership. For existing teams that wish to practice the fee structure.

If you are an individual wishing to join a team the fee is $195.00 plus GST and includes 8 practices with a coach, entrance into the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival and Festival Regatta, team jersey and use of paddles and PDF's.

If you are a group of people wishing to start a new team the cost is $3200.00 plus GST and includes 8 practices with a coach, entrance into the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival and Festival Regatta, team jersey and use of paddles and PDF's.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP
We welcome all new paddlers to join our club as individual members or as part of a team.

Individual memberships are for people interested in training and the recreational use of outrigger canoes (singles or OC6s), marathon canoes or kayaks. First time members must successfully complete an orientation course for the boats they wish to use. There is a small charge for these programs. Boats may be booked for 90 minute sessions.

ADULT MEMBERS
For people 19 years of age or over as of Dec 31st.

Full year (January 1 to December 31) $216.00 plus GST

For paddlers new to the Dragon Zone during the year, dues will be pro-rated at $ 18.00 per month. All dues paid July 1st and after will be charged HST (12%) rather than GST (5%).

JUNIOR MEMBERS
For people under 19 years of age as of December 31st: $100

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
For other adults who are members of a team which practices from the Dragon Zone and wish to use outrigger, canoes or kayaks as well, the cost of membership is an additional $75 per year. Please Note: Use of the OC6’s and the Marathon Canoes is included in the Dragon Zone team registration. All paddlers must be members.

BOAT RENTAL PROGRAM FOR NON-MEMBERS
Kayaks and canoes can be rented by Non-Members by the hour, day, weekend and week.

Single kayak - $15 per hour (plus taxes) for first hour, $10 per hour for second and subsequent hours.
Double (2 person) canoe or kayak - $20 per hour (plus taxes), $15 dollars per hour for second and subsequent hour.

All rental fees include use of paddles and PFDs.

PFDs MUST BE WORN BY ALL PADDLERS.
